Miley Cyrus Celebrates Sweet Sixteen Earlier

Miley Cyrus celebrates her sweet sixteen birthday party, although her actual birthday is on 23 November, at Disneyland on Sunday.The Hannah Montana star performed on a floating stage to entertain 5,000 fans, who each spent $250 for tickets, with a four-song set. “Miley’s Sweet 16 - Share the Celebration” party lasted until about 11 p.m. Her boyfriend, Justin Gaston, took to the stage on Sunday night during her Sweet 16 bash.The 20-year-old former Nashville Star contestant played guitar and sang “Achy Breaky Heart” with Miley’s dad, Billy Ray and her older sister Brandi.

“This is the most amazing sweet 16 that a girl could have!” Miley said gleefully. Miley also received a a Maltipoo mix named Sophie from her parents as a gift.

Miley Cyrus Rocks in Zootopia Concert

Disney sensation Miley Cyrus, who lately made news for her near topless photo in Vanity Fair, rocked the stage at Z100’s Zootopia 2008 in New Jersey on Saturday, May 17.


The concert is presented and named after New York’s hit radio station, Z100.The 2008 Zootopia lineup includes Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, New Kids on the Block, OneRepublic, Simple Plan, Gavin DeGraw, Sara Bareilles and Ferras.

The Hannah Montana star has been making more public appearances and seems to be trying to put the Vanity Fair photo debacle behind her.

Miley Cyrus was spotted with a blonde wig while heading over to the set of "The Hannah Montana" movie on Tuesday. The Disney movie is expected to be ready for release in the spring of 2009, coinciding with Miley’s book release.

Miley Cyrus also has her new single debuting earlier yesterday morning over syndicated radio. The single titled “7 Things,” chronicling a painful breakup. Miley’s new album will make its way to store shelves on July 22.

Miley Cyrus Performs at Disney But Didn't Address Topless Photo

Miley Cyrus returned to the stage for a concert in Orlando, Fla., but did not say anything about the recent controversy over her Vanity Fair portrait.

The 15-year-old star of Hannah Montana performed several songs at the Saturday concert that will be included in the Disney Channel Games series on the Disney Channel.

Miley Cyrus didn't attend Friday's red-carpet party for the games at Disney's Epcot Center, where she would have faced questions from the media.

Cyrus has said she was embarrassed by the photo, which shows her wrapped in a sheet with her back exposed.

She spotted a sign in the crowd Saturday that said "Miley I'm praying for you," and she responded: "I can't be more appreciative of that."

Miley Cyrus on TIME's Top 100 Influential List

Teen idol, Miley Cyrus, have joined Time magazine's "100 most influential people" list at No.59 alongside other world leaders, celebrities and sports stars.

Miley Cyrus, 15, who plays secret rock star "Hannah Montana" in the Disney Channel TV show of that name, became the youngest person to be included, under the category "artists and entertainers."

"As an idol to teens the world over, singer-actress Miley Cyrus, 15, is riding a huge tidal wave at the pinnacle of her career....I guarantee there will be many bumps in the road ahead......"wrote former child star Donny Osmond.

He added,"Within three to five years, Miley will have to face adulthood. Her challenge will be overcoming the Hannah Montana stereotype......As she does, she'll want to change her image, and that change will be met with adversity.".

Other celebrities on the list included Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Peter Gabriel and Mia Farrow, all of whom were listed in the category "heroes and pioneers" for their charity work and campaigning. Oprah Winfrey is the only person listed every year since the list has been published.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt - Most Influential Celebrities in TIME's 100

Time magazine has come out with its 2008 list of the world’s 100 most influential people. Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie top the list of celebrities, although they were listed within "Heroes and Pioneers" for their charity work and campaigning at No. 21.
The top ten are: 1. Dalai Lama 2. Vladimir Putin 3. Barack Obama 4. Hillary Clinton 5. John McCain 6. Hu Jintao 7. George W. Bush 8. Jacob Zuma 9. Anwar Ibrahim 10. Kevin Rudd.
Others celebrities include: Oprah Winfrey came in at 22, Mia Farrow at 24, Lorne Michaels at 58, Miley Cyrus at 59 and Robert Downey Jr. at 60.

Miley Cyrus will give a red carpet event at the Disneyland resort a miss on Friday, Disney said. It would have been her first scheduled public event since Vanity Fair published her seemingly topless photos this week.Miley Cyrus had been scheduled to appear at the media party, along with dozens of other Disney Channel stars to film the "Disney Channel Games," a charity competition.

The 15-year-old star of "Hannah Montana" did spend some time at the resort on Thursday, May 1, however, signing autographs for children and taking photos with Mickey and Minnie Mouse, at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Miley Cyrus's Dad Furious Over Topless Photo

Miley Cyrus's Dad, country superstar Billy Ray Cyrus (see pic below with Miley), is reported furious over Miley's topless photo taken by reknown photographer, Annie Leibovitz, and published in the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine.Sources very close to her father, said that if he had been there he would never allow a shot of his daughter seemingly topless to be taken. Billy Ray reportedly left the Vanity Fair set before the Miley solo photo was taken and that he was not shown those specific shots before they were selected for publication.

The photographer, Annie Leibovitz issued a statement on Monday,"I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted....Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it. The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful."


Miley is currently at home in Nashville working on some pre-production for the 'Hannah Montana: The Movie.' Meanwhile, she's scheduled to perform at Disney Channel's DC Games in Orlando this Saturday.

Miley Cyrus has become the center of a media storm for a semi-topless photograph, taken by Annie Liebovitz for Vanity Fair’s June issue.

The 15-year-old Disney star and teen sensation had made it to the front page news of the New York Post with the headline, "Miley’s Shame".

The near-nude pic shows Miley clutching a satin sheet to her chest with her back bare exposed. In her interview with the magazine, Miley said the picture is “really artsy,” but not “in a skanky way.”

She has since issued a statement to say that she is embarrassed by the photo and apologize to her fans.

“Somebody needs to pull in the reins of this talented little gal before her career stampedes off into the sunset,” says the LA Times.

Miley Cyrus has issued a statement saying she is "embarrassed" by the Annie Leibovitz photo published in the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair.

"I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," she said in the statement. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."
The photos (see original pic above) were taken by Leibovitz, a renowned celebrity photographer whose edgy, silver- toned portraits have included subjects such as Angelina Jolie, Scarlett Johansson and a naked, pregnant Demi Moore.

The Cyrus pictures accompany an interview with the 15-year-old pop star and her father, singer Billy Ray Cyrus. They include shots of the teen wrapped in what appears to be a satin bedsheet, looking over her shoulder with her back exposed (See published pic below).
The Disney Channel, which airs Cyrus' TV show "Hannah Montana," was also critical of Vanity Fair. "Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines," a network statement said.

Vanity Fair defended its position,"Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day," the magazine said. "Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley."

In a caption released by Vanity Fair with the photo last week, Cyrus expressed her comfort with how the apparently topless picture turned out.
"I think it's really artsy," she told the magazine at the time. "It wasn't in a skanky way. Annie took, like, a beautiful shot, and I thought that was really cool. That's what she wanted me to do, and you can't say no to Annie."

A handful of borderline racy snapshots of a girl who appeared to be Cyrus have appeared on the Internet in recent months, including images of a girl posing in her underwear and bikini last week.

Miley Cyrus Writes Her Memoirs

Miley Cyrus, the multi-hyphenate teen star, has signed a book deal to tell the story of her young life, it was announced Tuesday. The memoir by Cyrus, who stars in the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana," is planned for release next spring.

Disney said the book will focus particularly on the guidance of Cyrus' mother, Leticia.

"I am so excited to let fans in on how important my relationship with my family is to me," the 15-year-old singer-actress said in a statement. "I hope to motivate mothers and daughters to build lifetimes of memories together and inspire kids around the world to live their dreams."

The Disney Book Group, in a clear bit of synergy for the Walt Disney Co., has world rights to the book. Disney said Cyrus' book will feature previously unseen photos, family stories and "a look at her inner circle of loved ones."

The book, the first by Cyrus, will be published under the Disney- Hyperion Books imprint.

Photos of a girl bearing a close resemblance to superstar Miley Cyrus, 15-year-old, are making the rounds on the Internet.

One photo shows the Cyrus look-alike tugging at her white tank top to reveal a green bra. In another shot, she flaunts her bare midriff while draped over a young male, who rests his hand on her hip. Another shot shows her cuddling up to the same guy.


This isn't the first time risque photos of someone resembling Cyrus have circulated online. In recent months, shots have surfaced of a girl posing in her underwear and bikini.

Cyrus, star of the TV show "Hannah Montana" is role model for countless young girls. Cyrus' "Best of Both Worlds" tour sold out arenas, and her successful 3-D concert film collected $31.3 million in its opening weekend in February.

The upcoming "Hannah Montana" movie will be filmed in Tennessee and Los Angeles, beginning early next month. The movie is scheduled for release May 1, 2009.
