Korean heartthrob Jang Hyuk is in Singapore to promote his first Hollywood movie, “Dance of the Dragon” with American actor, Jason Scott Lee and Singaporean actress Fann Wong.
The movie revolves around Cheng (Jason Scott Lee ), a former martial arts champion, whose relationship with Emi (Fann Wong) is threatened by Tae (Jang Hyuk)'s appearance. Tae happens to be Emi’s dance student. Soon after, it seems that student and mentor has feelings for each other and a love triangle develops; leading to a final showdown where the loser has to leave Singapore.
In an interview, Jang Hyuk revealed that he and Jason Scott Lee love the Singapore "Tiger Beer" and talked a lot about Singapore girls, especially Fann Wong during their filming in Singapore.
Fann Wong said that Jang Hyuk was very professional and even demonstrated with his plum assistant to gain her trust in his dance skills for the film. She also giggling said that she prefers the Korean actor than Jason Scott Lee during the interview.
The world premiere of Dance of the Dragon was held in Singapore yesterday and then opens in theaters in Singapore May 1st, 2008 and in the U.S. on May 15th.

Edison Chen Sex Scandal Includes Singapore Socialite?
Edison Chen’s collection of racy sex photos are increasing in numbers as Hong Kong police go through files in his computers. The number of girls implicated is increasing too. The latest batch of girls are apparently not from the showbiz scene but rich and famous socialites from HK and Singapore.
It is believed that one of these girls includes a Singaporean and is a teenage daughter of one of Singapore ministers! As with any other Edison Chen's beau, she is pretty, outgoing and loves to party.
During one of her luxury yacht outings with Edison, he immortalized their intimate sexual encounter. It is rumored that they even had photo shots of them making love in the clear blue seas off Phuket.
Kira, the person who has been releasing these photos on the internet, is rumoured to have only just over 1300 photos out of the total 10,000 found by HK police. Kira has about 900 photos yet to be released. He apparently tried to sell the photos in Hong Kong but there were no interested parties. Instead he sold this set of photos to Mohd Ali, rumoured to be a businessman in Malaysia, for a handsome price of US$500,000. Kira has claimed that he is not in this for the money, so we should expect more pictures to be release.
As to why Kira is not creating this scandal for money? Stay tune, more juicy news on the way.....

Singapore Best Place to Live :Asian Expats
Asian expatriates have ranked Singapore as the best place to live in the world for its safe and clean environment, while Europeans chose Copenhagen, a survey showed on Tuesday.
Asian expats chose Singapore over Hong Kong (15th place) and Shanghai (78th place) and placed Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra as well as two Japanese cities Kobe and Yokohama in their top ten list of favorite locations, said ECA International, a human resource consultancy for multinationals.
Lee Quane, general manager of ECA International, said that Singapore's solid infrastructure, low crime rate and clean air made it a favorable place to live.
"While Hong Kong has seen an improvement in some categories, such as personal security, air pollution remains the biggest cause for its lower rankings relative to Singapore," Lee said in a statement.
Singapore is competing with Hong Kong as a location for banking and financial services.
For locations in China and India, Shanghai and Chennai (138th place out of a total of 300 locations) came in top for Asian expats, said the annual survey.
European expats ranked Copenhagen as their top choice to live in the world. They placed three Swiss cities -- Geneva, Basel and Bern -- and three German cities -- Dusseldorf, Bonn and Munich -- in their top ten.
East European cities such as Bratislava and Bucharest have made improvements in this year's survey because of advances in security, housing and health, the survey said.
European expats rated Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, as their 20th choice and Romania's capital of Bucharest in 14th place.
In the Middle East, Manama, the capital of Bahrain, ranked top in the region along with Dubai and Muscat. Baghdad, in last place globally, lost marks for poor security, the survey said. US, Singapore & Abu Dhabi in talks on Sovereign Wealth funds(SWF)
US officials met executive representatives from Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (the world's biggest SWF with assets of about US$900 billion), and Government of Singapore Investment Corp (GIC) to discuss draft rules that will govern the behaviour of SWFs.
Both investment groups had recently injected huge funds to Citigroup, Merillyn Lynch and UBS which are hit by huge write off from the US mortgage crisis. In fact, Swiss giant UBS's shareholders had just approved last night an 11 billion Swiss franc injection by GIC, apparently in a tense and marathon meeting.
It is interesting to note that there's a growing suspicion over government-owned investment funds, particularly those owned in Asia (esp. China & Singapore) and Middle East. Perhaps it is due to their unwillingness thus far to disclose much about their operations. But I think it would be unwise of European and US government to increase protectionism over these funds due to their own suspicion.
The questions they should perhaps ask themselves : Have their dominance and injection of investment, perhaps mainly by huge private coporations, in the world raise eyebrows? Or were these viewed purely as business invesments? Why is there fear of rising dominant Asia and Middle East?

Explain CPF LIFE Simply!
Recently Meanister Ng had annouced the compulsory annuity scheme (which had nicely renamed CPF LIFE) for Singaporeans 50 years old and below, starting from 2013.
Err.....please meanister, you are explaining the scheme to the public and many folks simply didn't quite understand your "chimealogy" of "Opt-in" when it's Compulsory. After all the announcement, news splashing two full pages of the Straits Times, the only take home message I believed we've got is,"I believe most of you will opt for payout at 80...".
First reaction - "Crazy ah?......opt 80 years old to start payout? Who of sound mind will choose this option?" I am rather excited to see the statistics of those people who opt for payout at 80 yrs old when it is implemented in 2013.
Don't mind, Meanister Ng, you might then be made a laughing stock out of this? Perhaps you may wish to take some cue from Meanister Khaw, who could put in simpler terms and yet explained in details, in announcing such important news to the public? Well, you may be trying to "cushion" the earlier strong reactions by Singaporeans regarding this compulsory annuity scheme. But we simply couldn't feel your sincere delivery in the speech, though you've got the 'brains'.
