Elva Hsiao Joins Stephanie Sun, Jolin Tsai & Zhang Hui Mei in EMI

Taiwan Pop Superstar, Elva Hsiao joins Stephanie Sun, Jolin Tsai and Zhang Hui Mei ("Four Asia Female Mega Pop Superstars") in EMI after signing her contract yesterday.
Elva Hsiao was in Beijing yesterday for her press conference and contract signing ceremony. She is currently recording her new album "I'll be there" and will be releasing it in June. EMI was also reported to be arranging movie deals for Elva.

Elva Hsiao was in high spirit and said she feels good to be back working with EMI again. Elva has left Warner Music to join EMI, which she had collaborated with 10 years ago. Her now Taiwanese colleague cum competitor, Jolin Tsai has generously sent a video recording congratulating her, saying that she hopes to have opportunities to work with Elva.


Media reports were also speculating about the possible cat fights between the four superstars with increasing competition for resources within EMI.

Nicholas Tse, Joey Yung in Beijing Olympics 100 Days CountDown

Yesterday, celebrities like Nicholas Tse, Joey Yeung, Lin Chiling attended Beijing 100 days Countdown to the Olympics. They are among the 100 celebrities and stars from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, like Jackie Chan, Ekin Chou, Jolin Tsai, Wang Li Hom, Stephanie Sun, JJ Lin who sang the Countdown song titled "Beijing Welcomes You".

Nicholas Tse said he might attend the Beijing Olympics with his wife, Cecilia Cheung if time permits. And he was heard teasing Joey Yeung when she told the press that the Olympics event that she most looked forward is diving,"You like to watch topless guys, don't you?".
Taiwanese celebrity, Lin Chiling (see pic below) said she was excited to sing for the Beijing Olympics.

Which record company will Jolin Tsai & Stephanie Sun go after EMI closed Asia operation?

According to a website "One Two Music", EMI will cease their Asia Pacific operations and will not produce any Chinese music records after Easter Day on 25 March.

A media checked with Vice President of the China operation, Ms Joanna Huang and she replied,"There are no signs that EMI is ceasing their Asia Pacific operations......EMI is a big international company and we will definitely inform the media if there is any announcement."

EMI Asia signed powerhouse singers like Taiwanese Jolin Tsai (see first pic below), Ah Mei -Zhang Hui Mei and Singaporean Stephanie Sun.According to reports, singer Ah Mei, Zhang Hui Mei (below) claimed she will stay with EMI records regardless of any movement or changes as she had worked well with Ms Joanna Huang in producing her records.
Last year, an investment company, Terra Firma had bought UK based EMI Records for GBP3.2billion and the new CEO, Guy Hands (See pic below) had announced to slash over 2000 jobs to cut expenses.Fans will be eagerly waiting for news of Jolin Tsai or Stephanie Sun should EMI Asia Pacific annouce their closure of EMI Asia Pacific operation.
