Zhang Ziyi, Chinese international star, who was on the cover girl for ELLE's 20th anniversary edition, took the limelight in the event.Karen Mok, Hong Kong actress-singer, in a sexy outfit.
Li Bing Bing, Chinese actress, was glamarous.
Barbie Hsu aka "Big S", Taiwanese host-actress, revealing her sexy bare back in a glittering gown.Dee Hsu aka "Small S", Barbie's sister, was stylish in a sexy black gown.Taiwanese stars, Dee Hsu and Kevin Tsai Kang Yung, hosted the event.

Jolin Tsai Promoting "World of Games 2009" in Hong Kong

Taiwan pop singer, Jolin Tsai, was in Hong Kong yesterday promoting for the "World of Games" to be held in Gao Shiung, Taiwan in July 2009. Her rumoured fellow singer boyfriend, Alan Law (Show) aka Mr Pig, apparently will be flying in to Hong Kong today for the same event.However, Jolin Tsai said that she will be rushing back to Taiwan for work when reporters asked if she would meet up Alan Law in Hong Kong.On the sideline, Jolin Tsai told reporters indeed she was stunned by the muscular man wearing his G-string on stage during the publicity show.

When Lin Qing Hsia Meets Brangelina

Former top Taiwanese actress, Lin Qing Hsia (she was the Angelina Jolie of the 70's till early 80's for many Asian cinema goers), met Angelina Jolie during the 46th New York Film Festival at the Ziegfeld Theater on Saturday in New York City. Lin, who was promoting Hong Kong director, Wong Kar Wai's "Ashes of Time Redux 4" (below 1st on the left) was delighted to attend her first movie event after 14 years retiring as an actress. She is married to a Hong Kong businessman and has two daughters.Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie attended the premiere of her new movie, "Changeling". Angelina Jolie was decked out in a strapless Atelier Versace dress, Sergio Rossi shoes and Mikimoto pearl earrings and ring.When asked about her 2 1/2-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne, Jolie said, “Everybody’s great. The babies are getting big and healthy and developing personalities. I run around with all the other kids, and I’m breastfeeding, which I think is a part of your body’s recovery. I feel great [and] feel very happy that they’re healthy.”

She was joined by director Clint Eastwood and co-stars Jeffery Donovan and Amy Ryan. "The Changeling" opens in theaters during this Halloween on 31 October.

Elva Hsiao is a Sexy Speed Racer in Her New Music Video

Taiwan pop star, Elva Hsiao was a sexy speed racer in her new music video titled "More more more". Elva revealed a almost bare back with translucent black bra and was wearing a pair torn jeans that exposed her long legs in the new music video. The MV apparently cost about US$720k and was filmed in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.

Elva Hsiao had reportedly trained hard to perfect her role in the new music video which required her to train in new dance steps and Chinese wushu. She was rumoured to have spent about 7 hours daily in the dance studio practising with only about 5 minutes rest. And a Chinese wushu instructor was also engaged to train her in the wushu scene (see pic below).
Elva Hsiao acknowledged that it was tough filming her new music video. She needs to endure being tied to a gauzed rope for the wushu scene almost the whole day, causing serious abrasion in her thighs and making her dizzy.

Lin ChiLing, Song Hye Kyo, Vicki Zhao in Cannes Film Festival

The asian beauties and actresses, Taiwan Lin ChiLing, Korean Song Hye Kyo and China Vicki Zhao gathered at "Taiwan Night" Dinner Gala in Cannes Film Festival. Model Lin ChiLing and Vicki Zhao are both promoting John Woo's new movie "Red Cliff" and Song Hye Kyo is apparently starring in John Woo's next movie "1949".
Song Hye Kyo and Vicki Zhao clicked so well during the dinner that they both continued to chat in Song Hye Kyo's room after dinner end at 12 midnight. They were also spotted holding hands walking along the beach before that. Vicki Zhao joked,"It's love at first sight".
Tony Leung, Carina Lau, Chang Chen also attended the "Red Cliff" premiere and the "Taiwan Night" Gala dinner.

How Jolin Tsai Celebrated Mother's Day

Taiwan pop singer, Jolin Tsai celebrated mother's day yesterday with her mom in a buddhist mass praying ceremony.She apparently bought her mom a necklace which she wore during the ceremony. Jolin said,"My mom hopes that my sister and I could accompany her to this mass praying event. So we came as we decided to give her an unusual mother's day gift'.

Elva Hsiao Smitten by Jang Hyuk in Her New MV

Taiwan pop star, Elva Hsiao, who joined record company EMI last month, appeared smitten by Korean actor, Jang Hyuk when they filmed her latest MV in Taiwan yesterday. She reportedly fell into the arms of Jang Hyuk after filming a scene.
The MV was shot in a cafe. Elva Hsiao and Jang Hyuk act as a couple on the verge of breaking up in the MV. Elva was in a sexy dress chasing after Jang Hyuk out of the cafe when their eyes met. Immediately after this scene, Elva seemed to be in a high and was giggling uncontrollably before falling into the arms of Jang Hyuk.

Elva Hsiao Joins Stephanie Sun, Jolin Tsai & Zhang Hui Mei in EMI

Taiwan Pop Superstar, Elva Hsiao joins Stephanie Sun, Jolin Tsai and Zhang Hui Mei ("Four Asia Female Mega Pop Superstars") in EMI after signing her contract yesterday.
Elva Hsiao was in Beijing yesterday for her press conference and contract signing ceremony. She is currently recording her new album "I'll be there" and will be releasing it in June. EMI was also reported to be arranging movie deals for Elva.

Elva Hsiao was in high spirit and said she feels good to be back working with EMI again. Elva has left Warner Music to join EMI, which she had collaborated with 10 years ago. Her now Taiwanese colleague cum competitor, Jolin Tsai has generously sent a video recording congratulating her, saying that she hopes to have opportunities to work with Elva.


Media reports were also speculating about the possible cat fights between the four superstars with increasing competition for resources within EMI.

Yesterday, celebrities like Nicholas Tse, Joey Yeung, Lin Chiling attended Beijing 100 days Countdown to the Olympics. They are among the 100 celebrities and stars from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, like Jackie Chan, Ekin Chou, Jolin Tsai, Wang Li Hom, Stephanie Sun, JJ Lin who sang the Countdown song titled "Beijing Welcomes You".

Nicholas Tse said he might attend the Beijing Olympics with his wife, Cecilia Cheung if time permits. And he was heard teasing Joey Yeung when she told the press that the Olympics event that she most looked forward is diving,"You like to watch topless guys, don't you?".
Taiwanese celebrity, Lin Chiling (see pic below) said she was excited to sing for the Beijing Olympics.

"The Warlords" Wins Big in Hong Kong 27th Film Awards

Historical epic "The Warlords" dominated the Hong Kong Film Awards on Sunday scooping eight gongs including best film and best actor in martial arts star Jet Li. The film, set in wartime 19th century China and with an all-star cast -- including Hong Kong heartthrob Andy Lau who missed out to Li for best actor -- scooped best director for Peter Chan and best film at the glittering ceremony.

"If I had not made a lot of kung fu films, I could have won the best actor award 20 years ago," Jet Li (see left pic) said in his acceptance speech.

Andy Lau, who was nominated for awards in two separate roles, scooped up the supporting role for his performance in "Protege," which also won best film editing. The movie is a crime thriller about an undercover policeman seduced by the lifestyle of his mafia boss, played by Andy Lau.

"I was told that if I played this role, I would be respected by the entire film industry," he said picking up the best supporting actor award.

However, Andy Lau, who is also a singer, missed out on best original song, which went to the theme from "Love is Not All Around."


The celebrity-mad Hong Kong press pack was out in full force at the red carpet event, as hundreds of screaming fans waved banners and cheered a string of glamorous leading ladies and men as they arrived outside the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

Controversial Second World War Epic "Lust, Caution" from director Ang Lee won the best Asian Film Award.

The film has faced a tough time from mainland censors for its explicit sex scenes and its subject matter of a government that collaborated with the Japanese occupation. Lee was not in Hong Kong to accept the award.




The best actress award went to Siqin Gaowa for her lead role in the quirky "The Postmodern Life of My Aunt," about a woman in her 60s who falls for an amateur Peking Opera performer, played by megastar Chow Yun-fat.

Prolific director Johnnie To enjoyed a better return than his blank score last year, with his crime flick "Mad Detective" winning best screenplay after drawing plaudits at last year's Venice film festival.

To also produced "Eye in the Sky" which won best new director for Yau Nai-hoi and best performance by a newcomer for actress Kate Tsui.

The professional achievement award was given to much-loved comic actress Lydia Sum, better known as "Fei Fei" (literally meaning "Fat Fat") who died from cancer earlier this year. Her daughter, Xinyi, accepted the awards on her behalf (see pic).

The lifetime achievement award was presented to Hong Kong movie boss Raymond Chow.

Chow's Golden Harvest studios helped produce a string of talent from the former British colony, including action star Jackie Chan and martial arts legend Bruce Lee.

Edison Chen's Sex Photo Scandal : Jolin Tsai & Kelly Chen nude photos

A website revealed yesterday that the latest issue of Hong Kong "Eastern News Magazine" had published a series of new female celebrities nude photos involved in Edison Chen's sex photo scandal. The females stars included Kelly Chen (See first pic below), Jolin Tsai, Yang Chen Lin(see second pic below), Zhou Li Qi and other Hong Kong female celebrities.
But many fans doubted the photos as they tipped that the body and the face of the female stars are unproportional. They also teased that it must be a April's fool day joke.
The HK magazine had apparently published only one nude photo of each female celebrity and claimed that these were the latest photos from the Edison Chen's photo scandal. Some smarter fans also said that if these nude photos are really from Edison Chen's laptop, the magazine would have splashed the photos all over the first page instead of having Tony Leung and Carina Lau anchoring the first page. Which record company will Jolin Tsai & Stephanie Sun go after EMI closed Asia operation?

According to a website "One Two Music", EMI will cease their Asia Pacific operations and will not produce any Chinese music records after Easter Day on 25 March.

A media checked with Vice President of the China operation, Ms Joanna Huang and she replied,"There are no signs that EMI is ceasing their Asia Pacific operations......EMI is a big international company and we will definitely inform the media if there is any announcement."

EMI Asia signed powerhouse singers like Taiwanese Jolin Tsai (see first pic below), Ah Mei -Zhang Hui Mei and Singaporean Stephanie Sun.According to reports, singer Ah Mei, Zhang Hui Mei (below) claimed she will stay with EMI records regardless of any movement or changes as she had worked well with Ms Joanna Huang in producing her records.
Last year, an investment company, Terra Firma had bought UK based EMI Records for GBP3.2billion and the new CEO, Guy Hands (See pic below) had announced to slash over 2000 jobs to cut expenses.Fans will be eagerly waiting for news of Jolin Tsai or Stephanie Sun should EMI Asia Pacific annouce their closure of EMI Asia Pacific operation.

I'll highlight a few here that had grabbed most headlines.

No 1. Victim: Gillian Chung (Ah Jiao)
The sweet girl image in Hong Kong Pop Duo Group -Twins is totally destroyed. Labelled "fake", "pretentious" after her photos with Edison Chen in the lovemaking process were widely circulated in the internet. These photos apparently caught her legs wide open facing the camera. Gillian later acknowledged that she was "naive" in taking those photos . But she had to voluntarily declined several movie roles and ads accepted earlier.

No 2. Victim : Bobo Chan
She is widely accepted as the "most innocent" woman in the photos. Mainly because she was really dating Edison Chen when the photos were taken. Though the photos were not many compared to Cecilia Cheung and Gillian Chung, but it was believed the photos showing her sucking Edison xxxx caused her planned wedding with her rich businessman fiance at the end of year to be cancelled. Bobo is reported to be crying everyday since the scandal and recent rumours had that she is 3-months pregnant?


No 3. Victim : Cecilia Cheung

It is not surprising to people familiar to Hong Kong celebrities tabloid when Cecilia's nude or explicit photos were circulated. She is previously known to be a wild woman and love partying. Her ex-boyfriends are apparently the Chen's : Chen Xiao Dong(Taiwan pop singer), Chen Xiao Chun(HK A-list actor). But she is now married to Nicholas Tse and had a baby son with him. Nicholas Tse was reported to have removed his wedding band. No. 4 Victim : Vincy Yeung (Edison Chen's girlfriend)

Vincy Yeung is apparently the only woman (Oops....girl, she's 18 years old) that Edison Chen has publicly acknowledged as girlfriend. She is the niece of Albert Yeung, the triad boss of a huge Hong Kong entertainment group who control almost half of the stars in the industry. Vincy is still schooling in Boston,US and has stood by her man since the photos scandal. Edison Chen was reported to have proposed to her after the scandal and before he was back in Hong Kong for public apology. But she and her family had not accepted it and Edison Chen had threatened to slash his wrist and commit suicide. Edison denied this report.

She had even publicly agreed to highly reward those who could produce her rumoured explicit photos recently. She also slammed another "denial involvement woman", Taiwanese Pop Singer, Elva Hsiao Ya Xuan for making unwanted "dead" swearing and claimed she did not need to resort to that.
