Edison Chen's Friends Left Birthday Messages for Him

Hong Kong actor, Edison Chen, who was supposed to celebrate his birthday yesterday on 8 October, was nowhere in media attention. He is currently based in the US after his explicit photos scandal involving several Hong Kong female celebrities earlier this year. But Edison's friends cum fashion business partners, DJ Tommy and Kevin Poon send online messages in their blogs for him : "Happy birthday my man", they wrote.

DJ Tommy told the media that he is still keeping in touch with Edison Chen via email but did not "dig" him on how he celebrated his birthday. He also said that he'll invite Edison to rap on his new album next summer vacation.

Edison Chen Will Not Be Back to Hong Kong for Trial

Hong Kong star, Edison Chen, the man at the centre of an explicit photos scandal earlier this year, will not be back to Hong Kong for a trial supposingly held on 6 October 2008. According to the Hong Kong media, Edison Chen had requested for the trial to be held in the US where he is currently based. The court has also postponed the trial to 26 November.

Besides, a female witness involved in the explicit photo scandal, highly suspected to be a Hong Kong celebrity, has also rejected standing trial for health reasons.

Edison Chen, the man at the centre of a series of explicit photos circulated in the net earlier this year, does it again, posing this time half-naked for a sandals advertisement. Edison was seen hugging the sandals and posing in his usual cool in the advertisements.
Lately, Edison Chen was also spotted with his girlfriend, Vincy Yeung shopping in New York.
Edison seems to be in his old self and was at ease waving to the media.

"Batman: The Dark Knight" will premiere in Beverly Hills Four Seasons Hotel on June 29 with the director and main cast of the movie present for the press conference.


Edison Chen who is a cop and have a short interlude with Morgan Freeman in the movie, did not appear to be on the list even though he is in America building his Hollywood career.

Gillian Chung Rejected for Quake Charity Show

Gillian Chung's management company, Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG), did not approve of her request to appear on a China Sichuan quake charity show. Her manager said,"It's not time yet (for her to appear in the audience)".

EEG has organised a quake donation drive in which Gillian Chung also donated about HK$10K. On June 1, Hong Kong will organise a Quake Charity Show in which most of EEG artistes will sing and perform in an appeal for donation to the quake victims; but EEG thinks that the time is not "ripe" for Gillian Chung to appear in the show.
Gillian's manager, Mani, also elaborates that the company had really flew Gillian Chung out of Hong Kong for her training a few days ago. Late last week, she was spotted training hard in a Hong Kong dance studio by paparazzi which prompted the company to send her overseas so that she would not be distracted by the media.

Juno Mak Mimicks Edison Chen's Quake Donation Move

Hong Kong singer, Juno Mak, who lately had a spat with Edison Chen over their fashion businesses, trails his competitor's move to donate T-shirts created under his fashion label "Chapel of Dawn" & "SillyThing".

Juno Mak made the announcement on his blog yesterday and mentioned that he is rushing the batches of T-shirts to be sent to the China Sichuan quake victims.Edison Chen had donated Reminbi $150K worth of clothing under his "CLOT" label in mid week to the quake victims.

Gillian Chung's Harsh Training Routine to Restage Comeback

Gillian Chung, the Hong Kong actress whose explicit photos were splashed all over the internet during the Edison Chen's sex photo scandal in February, is secretly training hard 7 days a week to restage a comeback in her celebrity career.

She was shot in a daily 9-hourly dance training routine yesterday in Hong Kong. Gillian was seen without make-up and had starting dancing from 10am till 7pm before she left the dance studio for home. And Gillian only grabbed a bite for lunch to keep her slim and fit.
Gillian Chung's manager from Emperor Entertainment Group, Mani said that Gillian is training hard at least 9 hourly for her dance and singing routine for 5 days per week, English and Kungfu lesson for twice a week.
She added that Gillian Chung might now be sent abroad for training since the dance studio location where she trained daily is discovered by the paparazzi,"I knew the media is concerned about her but all these lime light will distract and affect Gillian's training schedule".

"Gillian is positively facing the challenges of her future, I hope everybody could give her some encouragement and space (to grow)."

Edison Chen Flirting Backstage at Kanye West LA Concert

Edison Chen, the man centre of his infamouse sex photo scandal, was spotted last month at the backstage of American pop star Kanye West's Los Angeles concert, flirting with two women.

He was in a 9 minutes video talking with a asian and a cacausian woman and some of the crowd backstage who recognised him even asked for his autographs. The asian woman exhanged contact with him and the video did not show if Edison left with the long-hair woman later on.
Edison Chen was Kanye West guest star in his Hong Kong concert in 2006 and seemed to be on good terms.

Edison Chen Donated "Juice" Clothes to China Quake Victims

Edison Chen had made an announcement through his company CLOT to donate Reminbi 150K of "Juice" clothing (his fashion business in Hong Kong) to the China Sichuan quake victims. Edison's spokesperson mentioned that Edison wanted to do his part in helping the quake victims and he felt that the quake victims who lost their homes would be greatly in need of some clothings. Hence he decided to donate 150K of clothes under his fashion label "Juice" to the Sichun quake victims.

Edison Chen's "The Sniper" in Cannes Film Festival

Edison Chen's last Hong Kong movie "The Sniper" has a screening today at the Cannes Film Festival. Edison Chen is the man at the centre of his infamous sex photo scandal. "The sniper" is initially slated for a premiere in March but the sex scandal broke out in end January and has since been postponed.Other main casts in the movie include Hong Kong actors Richie Jen and Huang Xiao Ming.
The Cannes screening of "The Sniper" is by invitation only and the media is apparently not invited.

Cecilia Cheung's mom revealed yesterday that Cecilia and Nicholas Tse are ready for another baby. She also said that the couple is not affected by the Edison Chen's explicit photo scandal and is still a very loving pair.

Cecilia's mom elaborated that Nicholas Tse is very busy lately but Cecilia Cheung is ready for another baby anytime as she simply loves them. This is Cecilia Cheung's first mother's day after giving birth to her son, Lucas Tse. Her manager told the media that Cecilia did not make any special arrangement on this day and would be staying at home with her son.

Hollywood producer, Elliott.J.Brown, has specially flew to Hong Kong to meet and invite Gillian Chung, the woman at the centre of the infamouse Edison Chen's sex photo scandal, to be the lead actress in his new movie.Gillian Chung reportedly was very happy with the script and will act as a career woman looking for love in the movie. She is also likely the only Asian celebrity when the movie starts filming by end of the year.

Edison Chen's Music Album in Taiwan Music Awards

Edison Chen hits the news again. His last music album, titled "Let me introduce myself again", produced last year in June was submitted for the incoming 19th Taiwan Music Awards. Edison's record company in both China and Taiwan has confirmed the news.He reportedly conceptualise, design and produced the album himself, including writing the lyrics. As to whether his album will be in the final list, it will only be known in end May.

Edison Chen lately also made the news for turning to Christianity for repentance, which whom his sister confirmed and Californian pastor blog about.
Anyway, he will appearing as a "cop" in the Hollywood movie "Batman:The Dark Knight" acting with Morgan Freeman which premiered in July.

Nicholas Tse,"I'm Cecilia Cheung's Belief!"

Nicholas Tse was in a pre-Beijing Olympics promotion event in Hong Kong yesterday but was bugged by the Hong Kong media on his views about Edison Chen's turning to Christianity for redemption.

He paused for seconds before cooly replying,"I don't know about it as I don't read tabloid news, the sex photo scandal is over, anything that don't bring glory to Hong Kong has nothing to do with me."Nicholas Tse was known to be a Buddhist and prayed at Thailand's Four-Faced-Buddha, when pressed further for Cecilia Chung's religious belief, he said,"Do you believe that I'm Cecilia Cheung's belief?"

Edison Chen in Batman "The Dark Knight" Movie

The trailer for the movie Batman "The Dark Knight" is released lately. The Joker, Heath Ledger, who died in January of drug overdose, is heavily featured on the trailer in the marketing build up ahead of the film's release in July.
Edison Chen, who has a very minor role in the Batman movie, has not even got his name in the ads poster. But if you like to see him in a Hollywood movie, this is the movie to watch in July.Catch the HD trailer here.

Edison Chen's Sister Confirmed His Christianity

Edison Chen's sister, Trician, was back in Hong Kong yesterday for an event when she confirmed earlier rumours that Edison Chen is now a Christian and that he will be back on 6 October in Hong Kong for the sex photo scandal trial.She said that Edison Chen had slimmed down tremendously and was extremely unhappy after the scandal, as if he had aged 10 years older. But the family is now happy as they joined Edison in believing in Christianity.

She elaborated that Edison prays everyday after the scandal broke out and had found peace and gained a lot strength from it. "Lately my mum met Edison, he has been eating healthily and jogging, he is back to normal and is positive.....he is also busy in US meeting、casting after signing William Morris Agency,"Trician added.

Trician also revealed that Edison Chen is still meeting his girlfriend, Vincy Yeung, who is currently studying in Boston. She said that Vincy and her family are very supportive of him.

Edison Chen Requests Court Not to Name the Women Celebrities

Edison Chen has made a request to the Hong Kong Court not to reveal the names of those female celebrities whose photos are not leaked or publicised in the net when his sex photo scandal trial begins on 6 October.

According to a media report, Edison Chen had admitted to the court yesterday through his lawyer that the sex photo scandal might involved more female celebrities whose sex photos has not been circulated on the net. He wanted their names not to be revealed in court to protect them from any humiliation or hurt that might results from the hearings

At the same time, Edison is also suing Hong Kong "Fast Magazine" for defamation. The magazine has apparently published an article titled "Hong Kong Police leaked that Wealthy Family Daughters involved in Edison Chen's photo scandal" in issue No.498 on 1 March. He requested for compensation and a court order for the magazine not to publish further any related articles.

Twins' group singer, Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi, are officially kicked out as Walt Disney's spokesperson for Hong Kong Disneyland.

In fact, after Gillian Chung's "healthy image" was tarnished since the Edison Chen's sex photo scandal in early February, Disney had stopped all promotional activities involving Twins, including taking down their posters.

Hong Kong singer, Miriam Yeung, and Guang Liang had taken over as Disney's official spokesperson instead. They were both seen singing with Philippines and Thai singer, Nikki Gil, and TWO respectively during Sunday's "Small World" open ceremony in Hong Kong Disneyland.
